Makhadzi Speaks Out After Surviving Car Accident on New Year’s Eve
Award-winning South African singer Makhadzi has spoken publicly after surviving a car accident that occurred while she was travelling from Limpopo to Johannesburg.
The incident happened on the morning of 31 December, prompting concern from fans across South Africa and beyond.

Singer Discharged From Hospital
Taking to her official X account, Makhadzi reassured supporters that she has been discharged from hospital and is now recovering at home under the care of her family.
She thanked her fans, whom she affectionately calls “Khadzinators,” for the outpouring of love and support during what she described as a difficult time.
“To all my lovely khadzinators , my fans . Thank you for the love and support you have been showing me during this difficult time . I feel a need to update you ubout my health at this point because of the love and support you have been showing me not only sounth Africa but ALL MY AFRICAN FOLLOWERS GLOBALLY

Doctor Orders 10 Weeks of Home Recovery
Makhadzi revealed that her doctor has advised her to remain under home care for 10 weeks as she recovers from injuries sustained in the accident. During this period, she will not be able to perform.
Despite the setback, the singer said she remains hopeful and is trusting the healing process.
“From the treatment I have been receiving from my doctor , she advised that from all the injuries, I will have to remain at home care for 10 weeks Without performing
. I know myself Iam a soldier and i believe God stl going to do miracle … I am slowly recovering well , trusting the process..”
‘God Protected My Voice,’ Says Makhadzi
Expressing gratitude, Makhadzi said she believes her survival was a miracle and thanked God for protecting her voice.
While she will be away from the stage, the artist said she plans to continue working in the studio, using the recovery period to write new music.
“I thank God for protecting my voice .. 10 weeks might look like I will be lonely , but I believe God is giving me time to write beatiful melodies of good music.. I won’t be performing but I will be in studio doing what he saved me for .. and also not forgetting to thank him for giving me SECOND CHANCE TO BREATHE . Zwinzhi ridozwiamba ngamurahu . ,” she wrote, adding that she is grateful for what she described as a second chance at life.
