Guzzlers Lounge Under Spotlight After Patron’s Robbery Claims Go Viral

Guzzlers Lounge Allegations Spark Safety Debate After Robbery Claim Goes Viral

Guzzlers Lounge has become the centre of a growing safety debate after a viral social media post detailed an alleged violent robbery that reportedly occurred after a patron left the popular Kuwadzana nightspot.

The claims, shared by Crime Watch ZW on 29 June 2026, quickly gained traction online, with some social media users recounting similar experiences while others urged authorities and the business to improve security.

Patron Alleges Fake Police Officers Robbed Him After Leaving Guzzlers Lounge

According to Crime Watch ZW, the complainant said the incident occurred on Saturday after he left Guzzlers Lounge and walked to his vehicle.

The man alleged that while placing empty bottles in the boot of his car, two men approached him and claimed he was under arrest for drinking in public.

According to the complainant, he asked the pair to identify themselves and state which police station they were attached to before complying.

“I asked them to identify themselves and tell me which police station they were from. One of them then instructed the other to handcuff me. I refused and told them that they could not handcuff me before identifying themselves.”

The complainant further alleged that one of the men struck him on the head with a metal object before forcing him into his own vehicle.

He claimed the suspects drove him to a bushy area behind the shops where they searched him and allegedly stole US$430 (approximately R7,700) in cash, R2,000 (approximately US$112), an iPhone 16 Pro Max, two Samsung mobile phones, clothing and other personal belongings before fleeing.

The complainant said one of the suspects identified himself only as “Jamal”.

He added that he later drove to Kuwadzana Police Station, where he reported the alleged robbery.

Victim Calls For Better Security As Post Sparks Debate

In the statement shared by Crime Watch ZW, the complainant appealed for improved security around the entertainment venue.

“My advice to everyone is to avoid Guzzlers if possible. The area has become notorious for robberies.”

He also appealed directly to the business.

“If the owner of Guzzlers sees this post, please consider investing in better security or introducing patrol teams around the area where people are being targeted.”

The complainant said he remained injured following the alleged assault and appealed for assistance in recovering his stolen iPhone, offering a reward for information leading to its recovery.
