March and March leader Andile Somgxada has died after being shot outside his home earlier this month.
Somgxada was attacked on 4 July and rushed to hospital for treatment. He later succumbed to his injuries on 9 July.
The organisation has since claimed that several of its members have received death threats amid growing tensions linked to its stance on illegal immigration.

Movement claims threats are spreading across South Africa
According to IOL, March and March spokesperson Sandile Dube said the organisation had received numerous death threats against its leadership.
He said the intimidation was not limited to one area, with leaders in different provinces allegedly being targeted.
“March and March has been receiving death threats in this case of our leader in Ekurhuleni,” Dube said.
He claimed the threats were linked to groups that allegedly benefit from illegal activities, including extortion and the collection of protection fees from undocumented foreign nationals operating businesses.
Leaders in several provinces allegedly targeted
Dube said the movement’s Tshwane regional leader received threatening messages following a march held in Mamelodi on Thursday, 9 July.
He added that similar threats had also been reported in Umlazi township in KwaZulu-Natal and in Mpumalanga.
Despite the alleged intimidation, Dube said the organisation would continue with its planned Thursday marches across the country.
Movement vows to continue protests
March and March said it intends to intensify its activities, particularly in Gauteng, where it claims there is significant opposition to its campaigns.
Dube called on South Africans to support efforts against what the organisation described as criminal activities affecting communities.
“We call upon South Africans to stand up in defence of their country against drug cartels, extortionists disguised as security companies, drug dealers and human trafficking agents whose businesses are being disrupted by these continuous marches,” he said.
The circumstances surrounding Somgxada’s killing remain under investigation. The movement’s claims of threats against its leaders have not been independently verified.
