Slain UK Mum’s Family Break Silence: ‘I Wish I Had Told Her To Come Home’

Family Of Zimbabwean Mum Killed In UK Pleads For Privacy

The family of a Zimbabwean woman allegedly killed alongside her two daughters in the United Kingdom has broken its silence. Grieving relatives say they are devastated by the loss of Nothabo Zandile Tshuma and have pleaded with the public to stop spreading rumours online while they mourn.

Family Pleads For Privacy After Triple Murder

Nothabo Tshuma (42) and her daughters, Natalie (15) and Nala (5), were found dead at their home in Great Denham, Bedfordshire, in early July 2026. Post-mortem examinations found they died from blunt force trauma.

Speaking to The Herald, Nothabo’s 76-year-old mother, Velile Khumalo, shared her heartbreak.

“If I had one more chance to talk to her, I would advise her to leave everything and come home.”

She added:

“I can only accept what God has allowed to happen. My only wish now is that my daughter and grandchildren get buried here in Zimbabwe at Luveve Cemetery.”

The retired teacher said she had been looking forward to seeing her daughter and granddaughters when they planned to visit Zimbabwe in December.

Relatives Condemn Online Rumours

Family spokesperson Leon Leroy Khumalo said their grief had been made worse by speculation circulating on social media.

“As a family, we would like to appeal to all those online people who are making up stories about the tragedy to let us grieve in peace.”

He also appealed to journalists to respect the family’s privacy.

Nothabo’s sister, Sibongile Gugulethu Mungoni, described her sibling as the “darling of the family.”

“We are utterly devastated. Words can never express the sorrow in the family right now. We just request that people let us grieve in peace.”

She said the family had stepped away from social media because of distressing and false claims. Burial arrangements will only be announced after the release of the bodies in the UK and completion of the required legal processes.

Murder And Extradition Case Continues

Police allege Nothabo’s husband, Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma (45), left the UK before the bodies were discovered. He was arrested in Johannesburg on 10 July following an Interpol Red Notice.

British prosecutors have authorised three murder charges, while South African authorities are handling a separate firearm charge and extradition proceedings. His court case was postponed to 22 July 2026 as authorities continue verifying his immigration status.

The case has drawn widespread attention in both Zimbabwe and the UK. Nothabo was recognised for her career in data analytics and financial crime prevention, while investigators continue examining the circumstances surrounding the killings.
