The operation is also targeting a range of traffic violations.
Commissioner Nyathi said police are taking action against pirate taxis, commonly known as mushikashika, unregistered or number plate-less vehicles, drink-driving, unlicensed drivers, dangerous overtaking, motorists who ignore traffic signals and other reckless road users.
He urged members of the public to support police efforts by complying with the law and reporting criminal activities.
