Bulawayo Woman Collapses and Dies Inside Betting Shop
A 41-year-old woman died on Wednesday morning after collapsing inside a betting shop in Bulawayo’s Central Business District.
The deceased has been identified by police as Josephine Makiwa of Mpopoma suburb.

Sudden Medical Emergency
According to Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, Makiwa had entered the betting outlet and taken a seat before suddenly falling ill.
“The now deceased Josephine Makiwa, aged 41, of Mpopoma, entered into the betting house, sat on the chair, suddenly started vomiting and collapsed,” said Inspector Msebele.
She reportedly lost consciousness moments later.
Ambulance Called to the Scene
Other patrons who were inside the betting shop alerted emergency services. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene but she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Police have not yet disclosed the suspected cause of death. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
