South Africans believe they spotted an engagement ring on Rachel John’s hand. She is the new partner of Springbok captain Siya Kolisi. The couple are enjoying a mini vacation in New York. They have shared parts of their trip through separate vlogs. News of Siya’s new romance surfaced over a year after his separation from his former wife, Rachel Kolisi.
Rachel John posted TikTok clips showing her adventures in the United States. She visited Los Angeles for the NBA All-Star Game. She later travelled to New York City. Although Siya accompanied her, Rachel avoided posting photos or videos of him.
The couple visited the Empire State Building together. Observant followers noticed a small diamond ring on Rachel’s finger.
One commented, “She has a ring on her engagement finger.” A second responded: “I see it too!” A third urged Rachel to vlog everything from her “engagement to her wedding”.
Neither Siya Kolisi nor Rachel John has responded to the speculation.
A Possible Proposal Above the City
If Siya proposed in New York, the gesture would mirror his romantic past. It could also involve conquering his fear of heights. In 2015, Siya proposed to his former wife during a helicopter flight near Table Mountain. Despite his fear of altitude, he proposed mid-air. “She said yess!”, he captioned the now-deleted Instagram post.
Comparisons With Past Relationships
Earlier this year, Siya faced criticism after visiting Victoria Falls with Rachel John. He previously honeymooned there with his former spouse.
Observers also claim Rachel John has followed similar travel paths before.
In 2023, Rachel Kolisi visited New York for the screening of the Rise documentary. The event took place at the Tribeca Film Festival.
