Father Arrested After Allegedly Killing Pregnant Daughter And Wife In Kadoma

A 45-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly killing his pregnant daughter and his wife in a violent incident in Kadoma, the Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed on May 4, 2026.

The incident reportedly unfolded over two days between May 2 and May 3, 2026. Police say the suspect, identified as Obert Namurokosi, is now in custody following the deaths of his wife, Cynthia Namurokosi (45), and their daughter, Takudzwa Namurokosi (23), who was heavily pregnant at the time.

Domestic Dispute Turns Deadly

Police detailed that the situation began with a domestic dispute at the family home. Cynthia Namurokosi reportedly left the house on May 2, 2026, seeking refuge at her daughter’s residence in Victory Park, Kadoma.

Introducing the developments, the police said:

“The ZRP confirms the arrest of Obert Namurokosi (45) in connection with two cases of murder which occurred on 03/05/26 in Victory Park, Kadoma.”

Authorities stated that the suspect allegedly tracked his wife to their daughter’s home the following day.

“The suspect allegedly had a domestic dispute with his wife, Cynthia Namurokosi (45), who sought refuge at their daughter, Takudzwa Namurokosi (23)’s residence on 02/05/26.”

The police account suggests that what began as a domestic disagreement escalated into a fatal confrontation.

Knife Attack At Daughter’s Home

According to the police statement, the suspect reportedly arrived armed with a kitchen knife and launched a violent attack on both victims.

“On the following day, the suspect reportedly followed her there, armed with a kitchen knife and attacked both victims.”

Police say the daughter, who was nine months pregnant, was the first to be attacked.

“He allegedly stabbed his daughter, who was nine months pregnant, multiple times before turning on his wife, whom he stabbed on the neck.”

Both victims sustained severe injuries during the attack and later died.

“Both victims succumbed to the injuries.”

The circumstances surrounding the unborn child’s death were not separately detailed in the police statement.

Police Condemn Violence

The Zimbabwe Republic Police used the incident to reiterate concerns around domestic violence, urging members of the public to resolve disputes peacefully.

In their statement, authorities emphasised:

“No to domestic violence and murder.”

Police have not yet released details on when the suspect will appear in court.

Investigations are ongoing.
