Orlando Pirates have reportedly secured the signing of rising star Ngwato. Only an official announcement remains.
The Buccaneers are expected to confirm the deal when the transfer window opens on July 1.
Pirates Move Quickly for Emerging Talent
Insider Innocent Mkhize revealed that Orlando Pirates have reached an agreement for Ngwato. Mkhize previously broke the news of Tshepang Moremi’s arrival last season.
The club acted decisively to land one of South Africa’s most promising young players. Reports linking Ngwato with Pirates first surfaced in May.
The 20-year-old winger impressed during his first senior campaign at Siwelele. Although he played only a few matches, he made a strong impact.
His pace, fearless approach, and dribbling ability caught the eye. As a result, several observers identified him as a player with huge potential.

Known as “John Wick”, the Garankuwa-born attacker has been on Pirates’ radar for some time. The club viewed him as part of its long-term plans.
Could Ngwato Fill a Future Void?
Ngwato’s arrival comes amid uncertainty surrounding Relebohile Mofokeng and Oswin Appollis. Both players continue to attract overseas interest.
Interestingly, Ngwato wears Mofokeng’s famous number 38 jersey at Siwelele. He also followed a similar route through the DStv Diski Challenge.
Supporters must wait until July for the official unveiling. However, the transfer is understood to be complete.
Consequently, Ngwato could become one of Pirates’ first additions ahead of next season.
Despite his potential, the youngster remains a developing player. Currently, he looks more comfortable on the wing.
In contrast, the number 10 role requires greater tactical intelligence. Players must also make rapid decisions under pressure.
Wide attackers usually enjoy more time and space on the ball. Meanwhile, central playmakers operate in tighter areas.
They must handle pressure from all directions. Furthermore, they need creativity to break down organised defences.
