ZERA Cuts Fuel Prices Again as Diesel and Petrol Costs Drop
The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has lowered the maximum prices of diesel and petrol, giving motorists another round of relief after announcing its second fuel price reduction in less than a month.
The revised prices took effect on 8 July 2026 and will remain in force for the next two weeks

Diesel and Petrol Prices Reduced
Under the new pricing structure, the maximum price of Diesel (D50) has been reduced from US$1.99 to US$1.87 per litre. Blend (E20) petrol has also been cut from US$1.98 to US$1.93 per litre.
In local currency, diesel now costs ZWG50.37 per litre, down from ZWG53.26, while Blend (E20) has fallen from ZWG53.00 to ZWG51.83 per litre.
Fuel retailers may, however, charge lower prices depending on their operating costs and commercial strategies.
Second Fuel Price Cut in Weeks
The latest adjustment marks the second reduction in fuel prices in less than a month, continuing a trend that has brought some relief to consumers.
According to ZERA, the price review reflects ongoing government measures aimed at shielding consumers from the effects of global geopolitical developments, which have continued to influence international fuel markets.
The authority reviews fuel prices every two weeks, taking into account factors such as international oil prices, exchange rate movements and other market conditions before setting the maximum pump prices.
