Zimbabwean Forward Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya Apologises To Orlando Pirates Star Sihle Nduli After Horror Tackle

AmaZulu FC striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya has apologised to Orlando Pirates midfielder Sihle Nduli following a controversial challenge during their recent Premier Soccer League clash.

The Zimbabwean forward was involved in a heavy tackle that forced Nduli to leave the pitch during the midweek encounter in Durban.

The incident sparked concern among fans and the South African football community, with Nduli requiring medical attention.

Ngwenya has now addressed the incident, insisting that he never intended to hurt the Pirates midfielder.

Ngwenya Offers Heartfelt Apology

The AmaZulu striker took to Facebook on Thursday to reach out to Nduli directly.

Ngwenya expressed regret over the incident and wished his opponent a speedy recovery.

“I’m sorry, my brother, for what happened. I did not do it intentionally. I hope you have a place in your heart to forgive me. Speedy recovery,” he wrote.

His message comes as attention remains focused on Nduli’s condition and the extent of the injury.

Nduli’s Injury Raises Fresh Concerns

The injury is particularly concerning for Nduli because he had only recently returned to competitive football.

The former Stellenbosch FC player had spent a lengthy period on the sidelines after suffering an injury in November 2025.

He sustained that injury during a match against Golden Arrows in Durban.

The Pirates midfielder had hoped to put that difficult period behind him with his return to action.

However, being forced off against AmaZulu has raised fears that he could face another lengthy spell away from the game.

Pirates Await Medical Assessment

Orlando Pirates are yet to announce a definitive recovery timeline for Nduli.

Head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is awaiting a full assessment from the club’s medical team before the extent of the injury can be established.
