Crowborough Man Arrested Over inDrive Driver Robbery Spree
A 23-year-old Crowborough man has been arrested over a series of robberies targeting inDrive drivers in Harare.
Tanaka Bright Murasi is accused of working with three accomplices identified as Keda, Slim Giant and Rasta.
The three accomplices remain on the run.
According to police, the group used inDrive to request rides before robbing drivers of their cash and mobile phones.
The offences were committed between July and August 2026.

Stolen Phone Leads Police To Suspect
According to H-Metro, the breakthrough came after detectives traced one of the mobile phones stolen during the robberies.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department’s Vehicle Theft Squad (VTS) in Harare followed the phone’s movements on August 15.
Their investigations eventually led them to Murasi, who was arrested.
CID spokesperson Detective Inspector Rachel Muteweri confirmed the arrest.
“On 15 August 2026, detectives from CID VTS Harare tracked one of the stolen cellphones which led to the arrest of the accused person who is implicating his accomplices,” Muteweri said.
Police Hunt Three Suspects
Muteweri said Murasi’s accomplices have not yet been apprehended.
Police are continuing investigations as they work to establish the full extent of the robbery spree.
The arrest also highlights the risks faced by ride-hailing drivers who can be targeted by criminals posing as ordinary passengers.
Police are expected to pursue further leads provided by Murasi as the investigation continues.
