Wicknell Chivayo Gets World’s First Godfather II Watch Ahead Of October Launch
Harare businessman Wicknell Chivayo has been given the first-ever Jacob & Co Godfather II watch, a luxury timepiece reportedly worth US$660,000 (approximately R10.89 million), ahead of its official launch in October 2026.
Jacob & Co Founder Reveals Exclusive Gift
Jacob Arabo, founder and chairman of luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co, announced the presentation on Instagram on 3 September 2026.
Arabo described Chivayo as a “good friend”, a “Zimbabwean billionaire” and the “Godfather of Philanthropy”.
He also revealed that the watch had been specially engraved with Chivayo’s initials, WMC 777.
“It is my great honour to invite you to the official launch of the new Godfather II this October. I am incredibly proud to present to you the very first piece in the world, specially engraved with your initials WMC 777.”
Arabo said the gift was recognition of Chivayo’s philanthropic activities.
“A token of our deepest appreciation and recognition of your unwavering selflessness, remarkable philanthropy, and extraordinary generosity across Africa and beyond.”
What Makes The Godfather II Watch Special?
The Godfather II follows Jacob & Co’s earlier Godfather-themed timepiece created in partnership with Paramount Pictures.
The new watch features a rectangular rose-gold case with an Art Deco design. It can also play melodies associated with the films, including The Godfather Waltz and The Godfather Love Theme.
Chivayo has previously purchased a Jacob & Co Billionaire 3, which he collected in Geneva.
Chivayo’s Philanthropy Profile
The 45-year-old businessman has become widely known in Zimbabwe for high-profile donations, including cash, vehicles and other forms of assistance.
An analysis published in mid-2026 estimated that his publicly declared giving since March 2024 had reached at least US$43.9 million (approximately R724.35 million).
The Godfather II presentation adds another high-value item to Chivayo’s growing association with the luxury watchmaker.
