A United Family International Church (UFIC) member has questioned God’s existence following Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa’s acceptance of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s US$2 million donation.
UFIC member Keepwell Zuzumbe expressed his doubts on social media after a post by Ostallos Siziba.
Siziba criticised the decision to donate millions towards the construction of a church building.
He argued that Zimbabwe’s public hospitals desperately need resources to save lives.
“There are no medicines, no functioning equipment and no ambulances in our public hospitals, yet this is what the regime in Harare is choosing to prioritise,” Siziba wrote.
“US$2 million for a church building while citizens are dying in hospitals that cannot provide basic healthcare.”
“That’s ZANUPF for you, a scandalous distortion of priorities!” he added.
UFIC Member Reacts to Makandiwa Donation
Zuzumbe then responded directly to Siziba’s comments.
The UFIC member revealed that he regularly fellowships at Makandiwa’s church.
However, the donation has apparently left him questioning his religious convictions.
“Gift Ostallos Siziba i fellowship at this church but after this am asking myself does God really exist or we are just moving time,” Zuzumbe wrote.
His response quickly highlighted the emotional impact of the controversial donation among some church members.
Zuzumbe’s comments also introduced a deeper question about faith, church leadership and political support.
US$2 Million Donation Sparks Debate
Makandiwa’s acceptance of Mnangagwa’s donation has generated debate beyond the church’s membership.
Critics have questioned whether such public funds should support religious infrastructure during Zimbabwe’s economic challenges.
Meanwhile, supporters may view the donation as government support for religious institutions and community development.
The controversy has therefore placed Makandiwa and UFIC under increased public scrutiny.
For Zuzumbe, however, the issue appears deeply personal.
His remarks suggest that the donation has challenged his understanding of faith and the relationship between the church and government.
As the debate continues, questions about the donation’s purpose and source are likely to remain controversial.
