Zimbabweans reacted with shock and mockery after suspected juju ritual items were discovered outside the new Parliament of Zimbabwe building in Mt Hampden early on December 16, 2025.

What Was Found At Parliament
Online publication ZimLive was among the first to post about the discovery.
The publication wrote:
“Staff at the new parliament building in Mt Hampden woke up to this sight at the foot of the building: a Zanu PF cloth and clay pots covered in red cloth. The paraphernalia is thought to be part of a ritual.”
Crime Watch ZW also shared details of the scene.
The account stated:
“Muti ritual items were discovered outside the Parliament of Zimbabwe early this morning, indicating that an apparent ritual had been carried out at the site.”
In a follow-up post, Crime Watch ZW provided additional details.
“The Muti ritual items were found outside the Parliament of Zimbabwe building. They were placed on top of a ZANU-PF cloth and included several empty plastic bottles and clay pots, one of which was tied with a red cloth.”
No official statement had been issued by Parliament or the authorities at the time of writing.

The images sparked an avalanche of reactions, ranging from laughter to anger and suspicion.
