Grieving Khumalo Family Sounds Alarm Over Fake GoFundMe Linked To UK Triple Murder

Family Exposes Heartless GoFundMe Scam After UK Triple Murder Tragedy

A grieving family has issued an urgent warning after discovering what they say is a fake GoFundMe campaign claiming to raise money to repatriate British-Zimbabwean woman Nothabo Zandile Tshuma and her two daughters following their deaths in the United Kingdom.

The family says they did not create or authorise any fundraising campaign and has appealed to the public not to donate.

The warning comes as investigations continue into the deaths of Nothabo, 42, and her daughters, Natalie, 15, and Nala, five, who were found dead at their home in Great Denham, Bedfordshire, on 6 July 2026.

Khumalo Family Warns Public Against Fake GoFundMe Campaign

Family spokesperson MaKhumalo shared the warning on X on 14 July 2026, urging people to ignore the fundraiser and help report it.

She wrote:

“FAKE. Please do NOT donate to any GoFundMe page. We did not create anything like this. In your kindness and numbers please help us to push back against this scam. Set up by an unknown ‘SAMSON TSHUMA’.”

In a separate family statement, relatives described the fundraiser as a cruel attempt to profit from tragedy.

They said:

“Family, Friends and Colleagues. Sadly and cruelly some are set on seeking to gain from our grief and tragedy.”

The statement continued:

“Kindly be advised that there is a FAKE GoFundMe effort that has been identified and whose originators are unknown to the Family. Please help us and post in your socials for ALL to shun it.”

The circulating fundraiser claimed it was collecting money to return Nothabo and her daughters to Zimbabwe for burial, but the family insists it has no connection to them.

Triple Murder Investigation Continues

The warning comes as legal proceedings continue in South Africa involving murder suspect Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma.

The BBC reports that Tshuma appeared before a Johannesburg magistrate after his arrest on 10 July 2026 following an extradition request from the United Kingdom.

British authorities have authorised three murder charges against him following the deaths of Nothabo and her daughters.

Police have said forensic examinations found the three victims died from blunt force trauma.

South African police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said authorities had received a provisional extradition request through Interpol.

She said:

“We can confirm that South Africa has received a provisional extradition request from Interpol Manchester through to Interpol Pretoria.”

She added:

“We will be awaiting a full extradition request within 40 days, which will include the case docket as well as supporting evidence.”

According to police, Tshuma also faces proceedings in South Africa relating to the alleged possession of an unlicensed firearm before extradition processes can continue.

Family Appeals For Support — Not Scams

As relatives continue mourning the loss of Nothabo and her daughters, they have appealed for the public to ignore unauthorised fundraising campaigns and instead help prevent others from becoming victims of fraud.
