‘I wanted to come home’: Khama Billiat finally breaks silence on Kaizer Chiefs exit (video)

Khama Billiat finally revealed the struggles behind his emotional exit from Kaizer Chiefs.

The Zimbabwean star admitted he felt lost during his final months at the club. Injuries kept troubling him repeatedly. However, he said the pressure never disappeared.

Billiat explained that he often returned too quickly after recovering from injuries. Consequently, he suffered fresh setbacks almost immediately. The constant cycle drained him mentally and physically.

He also revealed that criticism continued growing around him. As a result, he no longer felt valued or important at the club. Every poor result seemed connected to him.

Eventually, Billiat reached a breaking point. He simply wanted peace and recovery away from the pressure. Therefore, he decided returning home to Zimbabwe was the best choice.

“I wanted to come home” he reportedly explained during his reflections about leaving Chiefs.

Supersport Dream Ends Quickly

After leaving Chiefs, Billiat hoped for another opportunity in South Africa. He later trained with SuperSport United while searching for a fresh start.

Initially, the move appeared promising. Nevertheless, things changed behind the scenes.

Billiat revealed that the club eventually informed him they would not sign him. The decision reportedly came because coach Gavin Hunt did not want him in the squad.

The rejection became another painful moment in his difficult journey. Instead of continuing his search in South Africa, Billiat chose to return home permanently.

Back in Zimbabwe, the former Warriors star focused on rebuilding himself away from intense pressure. Supporters also welcomed him warmly after his emotional return.

Despite the hardships, Billiat remains respected for his remarkable achievements in Southern African football. Many fans still believe he has plenty to offer the game.
