Police Appeal For Information On Hezy Motors Boss Hazel Mafu
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has launched a public appeal for information leading to the arrest of Hezy Motors Logistics Private Limited director Hazel Silibaziso Mafu, who is wanted in connection with alleged fraud cases involving more than US$155,000 (about R2.8 million).
Police say the alleged offences were committed between 2022 and April 2026 and involved vehicle importation deals that reportedly left at least 20 complainants out of pocket.
Police Appeal Over Wanted Hezy Motors Director
In a statement dated 13 May 2026, police alleged that Mafu used Hezy Motors Logistics Private Limited to advertise vehicle importation services through social media, electronic platforms and print media.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police, the company allegedly presented itself as capable of sourcing and delivering imported vehicles within agreed timelines and at competitive prices.
Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed that investigators are now appealing to the public for information that could help locate the suspect.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Hazel Silibaziso Mafu, who is being sought in connection with several cases of fraud committed between 2022 and April 2026.”
Police said the suspect allegedly attracted clients through extensive advertising campaigns targeting Zimbabweans seeking imported vehicles.
“Through these advertisements, the suspect misrepresented that she had the capacity to source and deliver motor vehicles within specified timeframes at competitive prices.”
US$155k Allegedly Lost In Vehicle Deals
Police say several clients reportedly paid varying amounts of money to the company for vehicle purchases and importation.
Authorities allege that after receiving payment, the vehicles were never delivered.
“Consequently, several Zimbabweans reportedly engaged her and paid varying amounts of money for the purchase and importation of motor vehicles. However, after receiving payment, she allegedly failed to deliver the vehicles.”
According to police, 20 complainants have so far filed reports linked to the matter.
The total reported prejudice currently stands at US$155,211.00 (about R2.8 million).
Police have not yet disclosed whether any recoveries have been made or if more complainants are expected to come forward.
ZRP Urges Public To Assist
The ZRP is urging members of the public with information about Mafu’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or contact investigators directly.
Authorities released contact details for the National Complaints Desk and the CID Commercial Crimes Division Northern Region as investigations continue.
