Temba Mliswa accuses CG Mutamba of being a “money lover” after Sonja arrest

Former Norton legislator Temba Mliswa has launched a fierce attack on Zimbabwe Republic Police Commissioner General Stephen Mutamba following the arrest of Sonja Chivayo.

Mliswa took to X and accused Mutamba of presiding over a deeply compromised police institution. He argued that the matter involving Sonja should never have become a criminal issue. Instead, he described it as a civil dispute that did not warrant police intervention.

His comments quickly stirred debate online because of the serious allegations he raised against the police leadership.

Mliswa Claims Police Corruption Runs Deep

Mliswa did not hold back as he criticized the ZRP leadership. He alleged that corruption has become deeply rooted within the force.

He claimed that officers now act according to financial interests instead of professional principles. Furthermore, he argued that ordinary citizens suffer most under such a system.

Mliswa also revisited his own previous arrest experience. He alleged that he was once arrested because police officers acted on paid instructions.

According to him, two officers later admitted they had simply followed orders. He further stated that he was eventually acquitted in court.

He argued that such incidents expose dangerous weaknesses within the justice system.

Warning of a Future Fallout

Mliswa also warned that those abusing authority would eventually face consequences. He repeatedly stated that “one’s bubble will burst soon.”

In addition, he claimed that evidence exists to support his allegations. He insisted that such claims could be defended in court if necessary.

Mliswa further criticized assumptions of political or ethnic protection. He warned against believing that anyone stands beyond public accountability.

Meanwhile, his remarks have intensified public discussion around policing, accountability, and alleged corruption within Zimbabwe’s law enforcement structures.
