Zimbabwe To Host Three 2027 Cricket World Cup Matches At Harare, Bulawayo And New Victoria Falls Cricket Stadium
Zimbabwe will stage matches at three venues during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, with a brand-new international stadium in Victoria Falls joining Harare and Bulawayo as the country’s host cities.
The announcement was made on Thursday during the official launch of the tournament’s host cities and brand identity in Johannesburg, where Zimbabwe, South Africa and Namibia unveiled plans for the continental showpiece scheduled for October and November 2027.

Victoria Falls Stadium Added To Host List
The newly built Fale Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls has been selected alongside Harare Sports Club and Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo to host World Cup fixtures.
Zimbabwe’s three venues form part of a 12-stadium line-up across the three host nations. South Africa will provide eight venues, while Namibia will host matches at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek.
Former Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza represented the country at the launch, joining cricket legends and current stars from the co-hosting nations under the tournament theme, “Three Nations, One Heartbeat.”
ICC Hails Africa’s Return As World Cup Host
ICC Chairman Jay Shah described the announcement as a major milestone in the countdown to one of cricket’s biggest global tournaments.
“This marks an exciting milestone on the road to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027. The unveiling of the host cities and the tournament brand signals the start of a journey that will unite fans around the world and build anticipation for one of our sport’s biggest global events.”
He said bringing the tournament back to the continent carried special significance.
“The return of this prestigious tournament to Africa after 24 years is a landmark moment for cricket. We are confident that South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia will deliver an unforgettable event, showcasing the warmth, passion and rich diversity that make this region truly unique.”
New Brand Celebrates African Identity
Organisers also introduced the tournament’s official brand, “Make the Circle Bigger,” which draws inspiration from the traditional African woven bowl used across Southern Africa to present harvests and gifts.
Local Organising Committee chairman Trevor Manuel said the unveiling marked more than just a branding exercise.
“Today is far more than the unveiling of a tournament brand and host cities; it is the moment Africa begins its invitation to the world.”
LOC chief executive Qondisa Ngwenya said the campaign aims to attract new fans while celebrating Africa’s culture and passion for cricket.
New Tournament Format
The 2027 edition will feature a revamped competition structure consisting of 57 matches.
The tournament will begin with a Super Series playoff involving the three lowest-ranked qualifying teams before moving into a 12-team group stage split into two pools. The leading teams will then progress to a Super Seven stage, with the top four advancing to the semi-finals before the tournament concludes with the final.
