3 Killed In Nissan March Horror Crash After Vehicle Loses Control
Three people have died after a Nissan March carrying passengers crashed into a tree along the Mutare-Masvingo Road, with the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirming the fatal accident occurred on Saturday, 22 August 2026.
The crash happened at around 5:40 pm at the 285-kilometre peg. According to the ZRP, the vehicle was travelling towards Mutare when the driver allegedly lost control.
The car reportedly veered off the road to the right before hitting a tree and overturning once.
“As a result of the crash, three passengers died on the spot, while six others, including the driver, sustained injuries,” the ZRP said.
Mutare-Masvingo Road Crash Leaves 3 Dead
The deceased were passengers in the Nissan March. Their bodies were taken to Masvingo Provincial Hospital for postmortem examinations.
Six other people, including the driver, sustained injuries in the accident.
The police statement did not provide details on the severity of the injuries or the identities of those involved.
The accident occurred as the vehicle was travelling towards Mutare. Authorities were still investigating the circumstances that led to the driver losing control.
Police Confirm Fatal Road Accident
The ZRP confirmed the accident in a statement published on 23 August 2026, a day after the crash.
The police have not indicated whether the accident led to any further arrests or charges.
